From Athens Airport you take the Attiki Odos, which heads West from the airport. There is one toll on this road about 5 minutes after leaving the airport of \u20ac2,80. You will drive about 15 minutes and exit North in the direction Lamia (\u039b\u0391\u039c\u0399\u0391)- EXIT 8. Take care to exit to the right as there are two directions at this exit, the other one heading South to Piraeus.<\/p>\n
Follow the National Road North. Upon leaving Athens, there is another toll post of \u20ac3,30. Continue on this road for about 30 minutes and take the Chalkida (\u03a7\u0391\u039b\u039a\u0399\u0394\u0391) exit until you cross over the bridge onto the island. Once you reach the traffic lights, follow the signs to North Evia(\u0392.\u0395\u03a5\u0392\u039f\u0399\u0391).<\/p>\n
The signs also say Ag. Ioannis Rossos (\u0391\u03b3\u03b9\u03bf\u03c2 \u0399\u03c9\u03ac\u03bd\u03bd\u03b7\u03c2 \u03bf \u03a1\u03ce\u03c3\u03c3\u03bf\u03c2) or Prokopi (\u03a0\u03c1\u03bf\u03ba\u03cc\u03c0\u03b9) or L. Aidipsou or Edipsos (\u039b.\u0391\u03b9\u03b4\u03b7\u03c8\u03bf\u03cd). You drive over two mountains, through a gorge and a gentle forested area beside a stream and finally reach the sea again.<\/p>\n

Take the same route as you would to Chalkida, however continue on the freeway another half an hour instead of exiting to Chalkida.
\nThere are 3 toll posts from Athens, (\u20ac3,30, \u20ac3,85 and \u20ac3,85). Continue until you see the sign to Arkitsa-\u0391\u03c1\u03ba\u03af\u03c4\u03c3\u03b1 where you catch the ferry boat to Edipsos-\u0391\u03b9\u03b4\u03b7\u03c8\u03cc\u03c2 on Evia-\u0395\u03cd\u03b2\u03bf\u03b9\u03b1 (it is 17 km after you first see the sea).<\/p>\n
The drive from the airport to the harbor at Arkitsa, should take you about 1 \u00bd hours, depending on the traffic.<\/p>\n
The ferry terminal is only a couple of kilometers from the National Road. The crossing takes about 45min and the ferry runs every second hour. Tickets can be purchased at the terminal and the fare is about \u20ac16,50 EURO per car and \u20ac3,20 for each person (prices are approximate and can change).<\/p>\n
